Marketing and Communications

Vice President of Communications - Salary $6000 to $7000 with free tuition.

The VP Communications role is to oversee all communications both external and internal drafted by the StFX Students' Union. They are responsible for ensuring brand quality and positive representation of the StFX Students' Union in any and all publications.

The VP Communications must ensure effective management and marketing of the Students' Union web environments. This includes TheU.ca, Frosh.TheU.ca, and various social media outlets. They are also responsible for the development of the Students' Union wall calendar, summer mailout- during the summer months. 

The VP Communications shall act as a liaison between its sub-executives and the Students' Union Representative Council.

In addition to this role, the VP Communications is a member of the following committees:

  • Publication Board of the Xaverian Weekly Newspaper, as a voting member;
  • CFXU Board of Directors, as Chair;
  • COCA, Student Representative;
  • Students' Union Representative Council, as a non-voting member.

Event scheduling and price positioning are also relevent to this position and the working relathionship bettween the VP Communications and VP Activities very important. Experience in events and marketing is a strong asset for this position.

 


Web Administrator

Responsible for maintaining the Students' Union web environment and building it to further serve students. Design, lay-out and problem solving are integral to this position. Works with the communications department and others within the Students' Union to enhance the profile of events, services, campaigns and more.

Marketing Manager

Responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Union marketing team. The marketing manager works with the VP Communications, several other union staff, societies and others to market events and services that contribute to student life at StFX. Experience in marketing, grahpic design and an ability to work well with others.

Marketing Team

A team of 7 student marketers who meet regularly to create marketing plans for events and services at StFX and work together to execute those plans. Working closely with the marketing manager, the team is made up of students with varying backgrounds. Experience in graphic design, entrepreneurship, marketing etc. is an asset.

The X-Army 

Another volunteer opportunity within the Student Union, the X-Army is an underground marketing squad that helps the marketing team execute their ideas. Everything from putting up posters to doing huge chalk murals, the X-army is a great way to start getting involved and contribute to the marketing department.
