Vice President of Finance - Salary $6000 to $7000 with free tuition
The VP Finance is responsible for keeping track of all the money that goes in and out of your Student Union. This not only includes the general departments of The U, but also CFXU radio, The Xaverian Weekly, Union Station Clothing Store and the individual residence house dues accounts.
The position drafts an annual budget of over one million dollars and makes sure that all departments are following it and being held accountable for their spending. On a daily basis,the VP Finance makes sure all bills are getting paid on time and light accounting to ensure all expenses are being credited to the right accounts, and taken out of the right budgets.
The VP Finance along with the Society coordinator manages all the societies on campus.This involves preparing societies to have a successful year through developing a well established society handbook; event planning assistance and helping societies manage their finances.Along with managing them this position also plays an active role in assisting with society programming.
The VP Finance is the chair of the budget and finance committee, which coordinates and documents all of the society allocations and outside donations. The VP Finance also sits on the Investment Commitee of the Students' Union as Co-Chair. This position is also responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of the Union Station Clothing Store and developing strategies for its improvement. Any and all financial decisions, research or strategies must go through the VP Finance office.
Union Station Marketing Manager
The Union Station Marketing Manager is a brand new position responsible for carrying out marketing strategies related to the Union Station Clothing Store. The position is responsible for promoting all of the products through advertising, displays, special events and discounts, and any other related activities.
The position works closely with the Union Station Manager, The VP Communications and the VP Finance to develop projects and ideas for the successful marketing of the store. It is a highly independent position, and requires a keen eye for design.
Society Coordinator
The Society Coordinator shall be responsible for overseeing the operations of and effective management of all Student Societies, in conjunction with the VP-Activities and Events.This involves organizing two society nights a year (one at the beginning of each term), helping the societies with all the required documentation they are required to have and assisting the societies with all the required budget requests.This position manages the overall operations of how societies work on STFX campus and is acts a resource for Society Presidents to assist in the daily operations of a society. Other responsibilities involve assigning coat check for the Golden X INN, helping develop a society handbook and assisting the VP Activities & Events with the development of Policy concerning Students' Union Societies.If you are an organized person who has great management skills this job is for you.
