My name is Ethan Dawson and I will be your Governors Hall/ New Res Councillor this year! I am from Happy Valley - Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador, and am currently in my 4th year of my Biology degree. I've lived in Lane, MacNeil, and Plessis, and will be living in Somers Hall this year. After two years of working with the Campus Police and the Res Life team, I am looking forward to representing all of you this year on the Student Council. My name is Jessie McEwen and I will be working alongside Victoria Steeves this year to represent the best interest of all Business and IS students here at X. I'm from a small town east of Calgary and there's nothing better than getting back to the East Coast and the St.FX experience! Outside of council I've been a house president, involved with ANSSA, Model UN and many other amazing opportunities! My name is Kathleen Murphy and I’m a third year bio student from good old Halifax Nova Scotia, representing YOU as one of your science councilors for this upcoming year! I’ve loved being involved ever since I stepped foot on campus in my first year, and since have been on my house council, president of Chillis, on O-Crew, countless societies, and a science councilor last year. I just love X! I like being active, and play soccer, hockey, and ringette, and will be all over campus this year doing as much as I can. You can always find me at Wing Night, and I’m up for a good time all the time! If you ever see me around, come say hi and I’ll do the same!

My name is Megan Paish and I am going to be one of your Off-Campus Councillors for the 2011-2012 academic year! I am currently a fourth year BSc. Human Kinetics student from Kentville, Nova Scotia. I lived in lane hall my first year here at X, and then decided to make the move to off-campus (woo!) and have lived there ever since! Last year I sat on council as an Off-Campus Councillor, and one of my biggest regrets is not making more of an effort to reach out to more students, and let them know who represents them. I am very approachable so if you see me around campus, feel free to stop and have a chat so I can ensure your issues get brought forth to council!

My name is Mitchell Visser and I'm one of your Science Councillors for 2011-2012. I am from a small community called Vernon River, PEI. I am a third year science student doing an Advanced Major in Biology. I was House President of Lane Hall last year and this year, I will be representing YOU on the Student Union Council. I love being involved in the U and I want to ensure that the interest and concerns of all science students are brought to council. If you see me around campus, don't hesitate to say hi, I love meeting people and making new friends! I love all sports and play intramurals as well as XHL hockey.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the student union, or you just wanna chat, you can usually find me at the library, 4th floor SUB, or at the INN Wednesday and Friday nights!

 
Hey, I’m Nathan VanderLinden I’m the Off-Campus Councillor for the 2011/2012 academic year.

I am from Antigonish County; I grew up on my father’s dairy farm out in Heatherton. I have been in the Heatherton 4-H club since I was 9 and am still in Calves and Woodworking. I enjoy building stuff; I have a small business that makes handcrafted writing instruments. I also really like traveling.

I went to Junior School and Dr. JH Gillis High School here in Antigonish and I am now currently At StFX and going into my 3rd year of Chemistry. For the two years I have been at X I have lived Off-Campus. After going through my frosh year as an Off-Campus student and this year as an Off Campus Leader, besides having a great time I think I have gained a good idea of what is going on. For that I feel like I will represent Off-Campus nicely on council.

 
My name is Nick Head-Petersen and I am the Lower Campus Councillor for this year! I am very excited to represent Cameron, MacKinnon, and Bishops Halls this year on Council. I am a third year Biology student living in Burke this year. Last year, I lived in MacDonald House and had a great time living in lower campus. I am involved in Ultimate Frisbee, XHL, and Model United Nations on campus, and I am the House Director of Burke this year. I really look forward to getting to know many new people, especially those living on Lower Campus.

Hey everyone!

My name is Peter Faour and I am your Upper Campus Councillor for the 2011-2012 school year! I am a first year science student from St. John's, NL. This year I will be living up on fourth floor of Lane Hall, so drop by for a chat! I'm a member of a number of societies here at X, and I lifeguard and teach swimming lessons at our pool here. When outside of council, I can usually be found working and playing hard in Lane Hall, the library, and all over campus. I'm looking forward to a great year as your Upper Campus Councillor, and if you have any questions, concerns or ideas, please feel more than free to contact me, I'd love to hear from you!

 
My name is Rachel Mitchell, and I’m from Toronto, Ontario. I am currently in my third year in the Aquatic Resource Management Program, majoring in Economics. I am serving as one of the Arts Councillors this year, and I am very excited to represent all of the StFX Arts students. I was born a pitbull and adopted by tigers, having spent my frosh year in Lane Hall, and working my second year as an RA in TNT. I spend most of my free time being arsty. I love club sandwiches from the SUB, making friends, wearing my shiny silver spandex pants and of course StFX. I am very enthusiastic and approachable, so feel free to chat it up and let me know if you have any comments, questions or concerns about council, or the Students’ Union.

 
X marks the spot for this guy!!!! I came in all the way from Ontario after completing a Major in Geography and complimenting it with a minor in Geology at the University of Guelph. It rocked!!!! I’m beginning my 2nd year in Bachelor of Education, as you may have gathered from my position title, and very excited to be a member of the Student’s Union.

With free time, you’ll find me on the golf course, playing soccer, riding the trails, fishing, hiking and exploring the great outdoors. I look forward to adding enthusiasm and support to our student body in the coming year.
