Hey Amigos,

My name is Aaron Norris and I am the VP Activities and Events for the 2011-2012 school year. How are you doing? Good? Glad to hear.
Here is a little FYI about me:

I am in my fourth year of the BBA program and I am majoring in Marketing. I grew up in Wainwright, Alberta and this will be my third year being involved in the St.FX Students’ Union. In my second year, I was the President of MacIsaac Hall, and last year I was fortunate enough to get involved with the Activities and Events team as the Entertainment Coordinator.

I really enjoy social atmospheres and having a good time, and that is why I wanted to get more involved with the entertainment industry. I love seeing people have a good time, and over the past two years I feel that I have gained the necessary experience to help host events on campus that will appeal to a wide range of students.

My main responsibilities as VP Activities and Events are to plan and execute all major events on campus. From Frosh Week and Winter Ball to X-Ring and Convocation, I will be actively involved in all the operations of these events. I also assist in the planning of all other events on campus, such as residence parties or events hosted at the Golden X Inn, so if you have any wicked ideas please don’t hesitate to come talk to me and we will see how we can make it happen!

Vice President Finance

 
I am a fourth year accounting student and this is my first year being involved with The U. I wanted to take on the VP Finance role to become more involved with the X community and take advantage of a unique experience in something I am passionate about. As VP Finance I am responsible for creating the Students’ Union budget, paying bills, holding everyone accountable for spending, and making sure the U’s finances are running smoothly. Additionally, I overlook the Union Station Clothing store and the Society Coordinator.

A little bit about me: I hail from Ottawa, Ontario, love meeting people, and spent my first year here in MacIsaac Hall. I’m also an avid sports fan. I’m in love with the Philadelphia Eagles and my favorite athlete of all time is Karl Malone. Mariah MacKeigan
Vice President Services

 
Hey guys!

I'm Mariah MacKeigan, and I am your Vice President Union Services. I'm in my third year in the B.Sc program and am pursuing a Joint Advanced Major in Biology and Business Administration. I grew up in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia and am a proud Maritimer! I love Fridays @ the Inn, Club K, and dancing in cars. This is my third year being involved with the Students' Union, as I was previously a member of the Campus Police and served as Environmental Representative on Chillis' House Council for two years. This year I decided I wanted to get even more involved, and the VP Union Services position was the best fit for me.

My position's main responsibilities are to manage and oversee all services provided to YOU by the Students' Union. The services we provide include the Environmental Office, the PhotoStudio, X-Yoga, DriveU, Student Advocates, and the Student Food Resource Centre just to name a few. I am also responsible for the Sub-Executives that manage the day-to-day operations of the services. When I'm not working with the services, I also serve as the secondary delegate for two Post-Secondary Education lobbying organizations, CASA and ANSSA. With CASA and ANSSA, I represent the concerns of students on our campus to the Federal and Provincial governments. If you want more info on CASA and ANSSA, check out the Lobbying link on theu.ca!

I strongly encourage all students to take advantage of the services that The U has to offer, whether it be by getting a ride home with Drive U, attending a X-Yoga class or volunteering at the Student Food Resource Centre. Meaghan McNeil
Vice President Student Relations

 
This is my fourth year at StFX and my third year working for TheU. I began in my second year as the Vice President of MacIsaac Hall. I loved the position so much that I decided to stay involved. This is now my second year acting as the Vice President Student Relations. My position consists of managing House Presidents, Vice Presidents and Off Campus Leaders, as well as their respective councils. This includes planning events, such as House Hockey Cups, as well as working with each council to ensure that they have the most successful year possible. I am also the primary liaison between the Students’ Union and the Residence Office.

I am originally from Sydney, Nova Scotia. I spent my first two years at X in MacIsaac Hall and I’m finishing my X career off on Church St. with 6 fab roommates. I love pizza, dance parties and being a Cape Bretoner. I love meeting new people, so feel free to pop in anytime with any questions you have, or just to say hi!

I am in my 4th year of the BBA program and am majoring in Marketing. This is my third year being involved with the StFX Students’ Union. In my second year I was a member of OCrew, and I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun. The fun continued when I took up one of the positions of Designer on the Students’ Union Marketing Team last year. Since then I’ve wanted to become as involved with the Xaverian community as much as possible, and that passion is what lead to me to pursue the position I currently hold as Vice President Communications.

My position’s main responsibilities are to manage all internal and external communication that goes through the StFX Students’ Union. This includes all branding of the Students’ Union, website development, press releases, and overseeing all marketing and promotion for events that The U puts on around campus. The U has a lot of offer students. If you want to get involved, have a question, or a suggestion about what goes on within the Students’ Union send it my way, I love fresh ideas!

I grew up in Fall River, Nova Scotia and fully believe that the Maritimes are best place on earth. I spent my first two years living in the MacIsaac Jungle and am finishing off my last two years on Highland Drive with 7 of the most amazing Xaverians around.
