Hey there!
My name is Olwyn Foley, I am a fourth year student here at X studying Development Studies and Economics. I grew up in Marystown, NL and Medicine Hat, AB but I’d consider X to be home. I’ve worked for the Students’ Union as Environmental Rep on the TNT house council in my second year, then as the Internal Environmental Officer and an Off-Campus Councilor last year. I also participated in some great societies and enjoy working with the Coady Institute as a conversation partner.
As SU President I am the chief spokesperson for the Students’ Union and work to represent each of you to our university, town and provincial and federal governments. I sit on the Board of Governors committee and make sure our student voice is being heard in decisions going on in our university and am the primary delegate to ANSSA and CASA, our student lobbying associations (check out the lobbying section of theu.ca for more info).
There are tons of amazing opportunities at X and in the Students’ Union to meet new people, have incredible experiences, find help whenever you need it and learn more about this great community. Don’t hesitate to find something that you’re passionate about and get involved!
