Seasonal Part Time Staff - Cleaning & Operations

StFX Students’ Union St. Francis Xavier University Students’ Union is seeking to hire a Part Time Seasonal Staff person to provide cleaning and operational support services for the Golden X Inn from Mid August 2019 through to Mid May 2020. This part-time seasonal position is responsible to the Bar Services Manager, St.FX Students’ Union and General Manager, St. FX University Students’ Union. The staff person will play a key role to maintain all Golden X Inn equipment, and keep it in high working order. Liaison with Facilities Management for work orders for the Golden X Inn, provide top level cleaning of the Golden X Inn on a daily basis. This person will also assist with set up and take down for Golden X Inn events, keep accurate inventory, be a point of contact for shipping and receiving of products for the Golden X Inn and other duties as required. The successful candidate must display an affinity for StFX and have an understanding of how the StFX Students’ Union operates. Candidates must possess strong leadership, organization, and time management skills. In addition the successful candidate must enjoy working in a team environment, be a self-starter, and have all corresponding safety certification up to date. The nature of this position will require this person to work some evenings and weekends.

The successful candidate must have a minimum 1-2 years working experience in the areas as outlined. The hourly rate for this position will be between $18/hr - $19.75/hr

Responsibilities: • Manage all aspects of the custodial responsibilities on behalf of the Students’ Union and the Golden X Inn. • Manage and maintain a high standard of cleaning and maintenance for the Golden X Inn and its machines. • Must be able to work for periods of time while standing, lifting, and bending • Must be able to work 20-30 hours a week • Attend regular staff meetings • Follow outlined procedures for machine operation and requests for various services provided by the University • Must assist with managing pick ups and deliveries with outside agencies Qualifications and Skills: • Proficient with Cleaning and Bar Equipment and maintenance • Current and valid Nova Scotia driver’s license • Fluent in English written and oral • Must be Bondable • Strong communication skills • Previous experience (1-2 years preferred) • Must be able to start on the dates indicated
