About the Position
The Union is seeking students to appoint to sit on the University’s Sexual Violence Prevention Committee.
This student-at-large position is a 2-year volunteer position. While sitting on this committee you will attend roughly 1-2 hour long meetings per month of the school year. As a member of the SVP Committee, you will:
- Annually review the University’s Sexual Violence Response Policy and recommend amendments if/as needed;
- Review, advise and support sexual violence awareness and prevention programs for the University, based on recommendations of the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Advocate, and identified campus needs.
- Develop approaches to communicate information on the University’s progress in preventing sexual violence, including:
- Sharing the campus-wide sexual violence prevention plan annually
- Recommending education/knowledge translation approaches for faculty, staff and students regarding the Sexual Violence Prevention Policy.
